Music and Mental Health

I find myself listening to music throughout the day, whether it be headphones on the way to class or a speaker in my room while I'm grinding out homework. Listening to music helps my brain work sometimes and I find myself really catching a stride with the right song and mood. Music resonates with us and finds a way to make an impact on our daily lives. A lot of songs have a way to take us back in time to the good lod days and I really am greatful that I can revisit so many memories through a 3 minute song. This will be my last blog post so see you around campus hopefully.

Taking Breaks

We all know school can be time consuming and stressful at times and it's important to remember to take breaks. There are many ways to take a break and chill out. You could go for a walk or do a workout. Some people like to sit down and watch a movie or an NBA game. Personally, I will usually sit down and play some video games. It helps relive stress and improve my mental health in many different ways. A lot of times I will hop onto a game with some of my friends from high school and am able to relax and slow down. Other times I can play alone and discover my own fun. Either way it's my favorite way to take a break from everything.

ARC Basketball

A few days ago I was invited to play some basketball at the ARC with some Tech Well classmates. We played for a couple hours and had a good time. It was really nice being in the gym again and getting shots up, even though I was a bit rusty. It was fun interacting with others who are here for the same reasons as myself. Hoping to get in more time to get prepared for intramurals in the coming weeks.

Sports Classes

Most of the PE students I know have taken or are currently taking Aquatic Fundamentals with Dr. Ogoreuc. It is a refreshing break from the usual lecture classes most students take and that's a big reason why I enjoy this major. The PE major includes many sports classes where the students get to play games and practice skills that will help them teach future students. During my year at Edinboro I took multiple sports classes that ended up being my favorite memories from that time period. The classes were about Soccer, Basketball, and Track. Many of my classmates were seniors on the football team who were taking it as an elective and they made the class 10x better since they were athletic freaks. These sports classes provide great fun and help students stay in shape and I hope I get to do some more before I graduate.
